Leo XIV’s Calendar Confirms Latin America Journey

Issued a day after medical clearance, the calendar lists papal liturgies from All Souls at Verano Cemetery to the Dec. 8 Act of Veneration of Mary Immaculate.

The Holy See Press Office on Tuesday, Oct. 27, released the calendar of liturgical celebrations Pope Leo XIV will preside over in November and December 2026. The bulletin sets the Holy Father’s principal public rites in Rome and includes his previously announced apostolic journey to Latin America as proceeding as planned.

All Souls, the Chapel, and Three Nations

On Nov. 2, the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed, Leo XIV will celebrate at Rome’s Verano Cemetery. On Nov. 5 he will celebrate Mass with the papal chapel.

From Nov. 6 to 17 the Pope is scheduled to visit Uruguay, Argentina, and Peru. The newly issued calendar lists that apostolic journey among his commitments without alteration. The listing follows the medical confirmation of Oct. 26 that his recovery permits him to undertake the trip. Of the forthcoming visit, the Holy Father has said that it “fills me with joy.”

St. Peter’s Centenary and the December Marian Act

On Nov. 18, Leo XIV will preside at the dedication of St. Peter’s Basilica, marking the fourth centenary of that dedication. The observance joins the end of the liturgical year to the church built over the tomb of the Apostle Peter.

On Dec. 8, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, the Pope will carry out the Act of Veneration of Mary Immaculate, the customary papal homage to the Mother of God at the threshold of Advent.

The November–December slate thus traces a full arc of papal liturgy: suffrage for the faithful departed, the life of the chapel, an extended mission across three Latin American countries, the basilica’s centenary, and the December act of Marian veneration. With medical clearance secured and the journey fixed on the official calendar, the Holy Father’s public schedule through the end of the year is now set.
